Awareness through Movement
To register: contact Director Natalie Jonas at 718-813-8110 or email at n.dessner@gmail.com
The Feldenkrais Method uses a series of gentle, origanized movements that encourage awareness and enhance the way you move as a whole person. It emphasizes the value of being curious about how you move and how you feel and think about yourself.
The ATM classes are given in a group setting. As the student, you begin by lying on the floor or sitting in a chair. The teacher then guides you through a series of movements and qualities of attention. Through these lessons the student is able to expand his or her self image. The experience of taking these classes can also generate other ways of being in tune with one’s self beyond the physical.
